CELEBRATION OF 80TH INDEPENDENCE DAY
Bethany School, Kinnikambla, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit on 15 August 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the school campus.
The programme began with a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Mr. Ambrose D’Silva, Ex-serviceman, Indian Army, the Guest of Honour, Mr. James Daniel D’Souza, PTA Vice President, the Superior, Correspondent, Principal, teachers, students and parents.
The flag-hoisting ceremony was conducted by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ambrose D’Silva. The National Flag was hoisted with pride and respect, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The ceremony created a strong sense of patriotism and reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and armed forces.
The students presented a variety of cultural programmes. The programme included a welcome dance ,skit , a presentation on the importance of Independence Day, a theme dance, and a patriotic dance. The students performed with confidence and enthusiasm, adding colour and joy to the celebration.
The presence and inspiring words of the Chief Guest, an ex-serviceman of the Indian Army, made the occasion especially meaningful. The celebration encouraged the students to value the freedom of our country and to become responsible citizens.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. The Independence Day celebration was a memorable and meaningful occasion for everyone. It beautifully reflected the spirit of the message:
“Let us honour the past, celebrate the present and
